Bill Bryson is a best-selling author known for his humorous and accessible writing style. Born in Iowa in 1951, Bryson has written on a wide range of topics, from travel to language to science. His other notable works include A Walk in the Woods, In a Sunburned Country, and The Mother Tongue. Bryson’s interest in science and history led him to write A Short History of Nearly Everything, which won several awards, including the Aventis Prize for Science Books in 2004.
